This ultra-limited edition hat was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of what may be the most iconic western painting of all time—”The Last Drop from His Stetson” by legendary cowboy artist Lon Megargee, which depicts a kindly cowboy kneeling to give his horse a drink of water from his upturned hat.
Available in a limited run of just 100 units, The Last Drop 100th Anniversary Edition is crafted by hand in Texas from the finest 100X fur felt, and features a custom buckle set that renders Megargee’s painting in silver and gold and with ruby inlays, plus a special emerald and white satin liner, unique leather sweatband, and numbered certificate of ownership.
To further celebrate the anniversary, Stetson has commissioned three acclaimed contemporary artists—Logan Maxwell Hagege, Bella McGoldrick, and Thomas Blackshear—to reimagine Megargee’s original painting in their own style. The new artworks will live alongside the original in the Stetson company collection, and each The Last Drop 100th Anniversary Edition hat comes with a folio containing 8×10 postcard prints of the original and three new works, all elegantly packaged in a custom-made commemorative box.
